Position your audio clip where you want it to begin in your movie.Ĭhoose Advanced > “Lock Audio Clip at Playhead”. When your audio clips are lined up with your video the way you want, you can lock them to the video so that if you move a video clip, it won’t misalign your audio. You can adjust how rapidly the volume changes with the slope of the marker. Select the volume level marker and press Delete.Ĭlick a point on the volume level bar where you want to adjust the volume.ĭrag the marker to where you want the sound adjustment to end (if fading in) or begin (if fading out).ĭrag the smaller point on the marker up or down, depending on whether you want the volume to get louder or softer. To make the volume adjustment more gradual, drag the small end of the marker to create more of a slope. You can create as many markers as you need to adjust the volume as finely as you want. Honestly buttons are great but when things are all visual it i a sign of true genius. You could even t choose the level of fade visually. Anyway they had a simple audio volume adjustment you could use right on the timeline that included a simple mark in and out with the ability to curve down the audio. Well beyond iMovie 6's demise it was still part of my toolkit. Take a gander at the original versions iMovie (before eApple decide to mess with the interface)which I used until the bitter end for a lot of down and dirty projects. This is one of the most basic functions for good audio- and who makes a video without faded audio? Honestly someone was sleeping at Adobe labs when this came across their desk for final sign-off. I love that Adobe brought us this product but Geez Louise! no fade audio function? Come on Adobe. Give the man a prize!
